More TV series to watch — NOTES OF WINTER

More TV series to watch

(This picture doesn't belong to me)
No, it's not over yet. Few months ago, I released an article with a list of tv show I've watched and liked. Here we go again. With the current events, you probably had some time to watch some tv during lockdown either you couldn't work, you were jobless or something else. Guess what, I did the same. Once again, each shows I'm presenting if available on Netflix as they are Netflix's productions. To my opinion, they are producing amazing tv shows however they are less impressive with their movies. If you are interested, I can share with you some movie productions I've seen and liked. Keep in mind that most of these tv shows, I've watched them in once, please, don't judge me. No shame here. Also, I decided to give notes because I feel like my explanation are sometimes a bit confusing, if it's true, I apologize.

CONTROL Z
When a hacker beings releasing students' secrets to the entire high school, the socially isolated but observant Sofia works to uncover his/her identity.
If Gossip Girl and Elite had a child, it would be this amazing mexican series and if you liked You and Pretty Little Liars, you're gonna love it. The first episode is a bit slow but once you're at its end, the whole secret revelation starts and the suspens never stops. It's really good. Honestly, I'm so into that kind of tv shows, I love the suspens and I always try to guess who's behind the whole idea of sharing secrets you know. And most of the time, I'm right. This time, I was!
MY NOTE:

THE POLITICIAN
The first season is set at the fictional Saint Sebastian High School in Santa Barbara, California. Payton Hobart, who has dreamed of being elected President of the United States since childhood, is running for student body president against the popular and athletic River Barkley. Payton, under the direction of his ambitious friends McAfee Westbrook, James Sullivan, and Alice Charles, chooses Infinity Jackson, a cancer patient and victim of Munchausen by Proxy disorder, to be his vice-president. Meanwhile, River, under the direction of his girlfriend Astrid Sloan, chooses Skye Leighton, a gender-nonconforming black classmate, to be his vice-president.

Last year, when season one was released, I’ve watched it within’ a day and I honestly loved it. I quite am a fan of politics (however I won’t share my political opinions here) and this tv show was definitely something I needed in my life and I didn’t know it. I was so excited for season two and I’m definitely not disappointed at all. It's interesting, it's a nice story, it will keep you interested.
MY NOTE:

SWEET MAGNOLIAS
Sweet Magnolias follows "three South Carolina women, best friends since childhood, as they shepherd each other through the complexities of romance, career, and family."

This one is my favorite, seriously, I just loved it so much. It's also deeper than the description I found online because it's the story of three women yes however it's mainly the story of three best friends who decide to open a spa as one of them, Maddie, is in the middle of her divorce procedure. It's not just about friendship or romance, it's also about achieving you dreams. But eh, details! I cried, I laughed, I went through soooo many emotions, it was an emotional rollercoaster. And I'm still not over it. Honestly, I just want a bunch of seasons because I'll never get enough of this (it's basically the same mood I was when I talked about Virgin River in my previous article). I LOVE IT!
MY NOTE:

VALERIA
A novelist in creative and marital crises finds support with her three best friends, each of whom is discovering her own path to success.

Another spanish tv show that’s totally worthy. Valeria reminds me a lot of Sex and the City which is definitely one of my ultimate favorites. It’s girly, easy to follow, subtle, entertaining, it’s a nice story about some friends and I personally could recognized myself in one of the character and I’m probably not the only one. It's also a lot about sex, just sayin'.
MY NOTE:

13 REASONS WHY
The series revolves around the lives of teenagers at the fictional Liberty High School. At the onset of the series, Clay Jensen, a junior at Liberty, receives a set of seven tapes recorded by Hannah Baker, his friend and crush who committed suicide. On the tapes, Hannah unfolds an intensely emotional audio diary, detailing the 13 reasons why she killed herself, with each person being represented on a tape.

Season four: the last one. Let me tell you: I never cried that much, of course, I won’t spoil anything because I don’t want to ruin your experience with the show but it got me emotionally unstable. However, I have to admit something, the show was quite boring. I’m quite glad it’s finally over even if the last episode got me so depressed. Honestly, the first season was really great, the second wasn’t too bad but third and fourth weren’t really great. That's just my opinion, I finished it because I started it and it's something that really matters to me: talking about bullying as it's unfortunately a modern issue, but this article isn't the place to talk about it. But yeah, it started with a good first season but that's it. Is it a waste of time? No. However, I'd rather have spent it doing something else. Sorry not sorry.
MY NOTE:

DEAD TO ME
Dead to Me is about a friendship that blossoms between Jen and Judy. Jen is a recently widowed real estate agent based in Laguna Beach, California, trying to come to terms with her loss through therapy, exercise, and other methods. She uses anger and resentment as an outlet for her grief. She meets Judy in a therapy group for bereft spouses. Jen mourns her husband, who was killed by a hit-and-run driver, while Judy claims she is grieving for her fiancé who died of a heart attack. The two characters face their struggles differently, as Jen finds herself in a dark place and Judy maintains a positive disposition. This difference quickly leads to a deep bond between the two. Jen becomes more unhinged as she unravels the mystery of her husband's death and Judy's secrets.

This one is a gem. As you probably noticed, I love tv show with a (huge) part of suspens and this one is one of them. I've watched season one when it was released last year and I loved it, the story is good, the cast isn't bad, it was honestly enough for me. When season one ended, oh my god, I was already ready for a second season. So when season two was released, I literally put the world on pause to watch it. It took me a bit of time to finish it but that's not because it was bad, trust me. Anyway, it's good, episodes aren't too long, the story is really nice, I want the release of season three. That's it, I just love it. My sister does. My mom as well apparently and most of my friends too.
MY NOTE:

NEVER HAVE I EVER
The story centers around Devi Vishwakumar, a 15-year-old girl from Sherman Oaks, California. After a horrible freshman year, Devi wants to change her social status, but friends, family, and feelings do not make it easy for her. After Devi's father, Mohan passes away, Devi loses the use of her legs for three months. The following year, she tries to deal with her grief, Indian identity and school life, also struggling with her relationship with her mother, Nalini, her beautiful cousin, Kamala, her 2 best friends, Eleanor and Fabiola, her high school crush, Paxton, and her nemesis, Ben.

Yes, I know "another teen-high school whatever tv show" however the story is so sweet. I cried to much. I laughed too. This is definitely cute as hell, it's a beautiful story about a girl who has a crush, who has to survive high school, nothing really unknown but I just liked it. Is it THE tv show? No. But you can spend your time watching it, it's cool, it keeps you entertained. That's enough for me.
MY NOTE:

I just love writing about what I'm watching, what I liked and disliked and I hope you like to read this type of article. I think I'll share other articles about the one I disliked (there are plenty), the one I'm watching outside of Netflix etc. Just for a change you know. What are you currently watching? What are your favorites and the one you didn't like? Let me know everything, I'm just so curious. I can't wait to discover another shows even if I'm already so late with most of the ones I'm following.
