Earlier this year, I was looking to escape Edinburgh for just a few hours. On the east side coast of Scotland, on a about half-an-hour train journey, you can find the picturesque North Berwick — the "w" is silent, by the way. It has been on my list for quite a few at that point, maybe a year and half. It felt like the perfect occasion, and to be honest, it was a trip I did on a whim. Just woke up and decide to take the bus to the station and get in the first train to the coast. Some days, it's just a form of therapy.
Though I know there are quite a few things to do in North Berwick, I decided to go mainly for a long walk, a change of air and a view on the sea. And the rocks. And the islands nearly. I wanted to observe Bass Rock from afar, drink a hot chocolate and feel the wind in my hair, and that is exactly what I did. When I left that morning, it was sunny. One thing you must know about living in the UK: you can never trust the weather. One minute, it's sunny, the next it's hailing. And obviously, not exception here. The second I got off the train, upon arrival, it started to rain. I will need more to give up and just go back home, so I walked to the beach and started to explore. With the fog, it looked even more picturesque, and as it's my favorite weather (yes, people like me exist), I can confirm I was thrilled! Until the sun showed up, about 3 minutes later.
